Draft Generation is the third stage in the Content Team workflow. In this phase, you'll transform your structured outline into a complete blog post with fully developed content for each section. The Draft feature provides multiple editing options to refine your content until it perfectly matches your requirements.
Generating Your Draft
You can generate your draft content in three different ways
1. Section-by-Section Generation
Generate content for individual sections from the Outline screen:
Navigate to the Outline screen for your keyword.
Click the expand icon next to any section.
Click the "Generate" button to create content for just that section.
Repeat for each section you want to generate.
Good to Know: Each section goes through five generation stages, from "Section Analysis" to "Section Stage 5 Completed." You can track progress in the status column next to each section. Wait for "Section Stage 5 Completed" before reviewing content.
2. Generate All Sections at Once
Create content for all sections simultaneously:
In the Outline screen, click the "Actions" button in the top-right corner.
Select "Generate All Sections" from the dropdown menu.
Wait for all sections to complete generation.
Good to Know: When generating all sections at once, content is created in parallel, which is faster than section-by-section generation. However, you won't be able to review individual sections until they're complete.
3. Generate from Content Team Dashboard
Start the draft generation process from the main dashboard:
Find your keyword in the Content Team dashboard.
If the status is "Outline approval awaiting," click "Approve Outline".
When the status changes to "Draft Generation Awaiting," click "Generate Draft".
Reviewing Your Draft
After generation is complete, you can review your draft in two ways:
From the Content Team Dashboard
Wait for the status to change to "Draft review awaiting"
Click the "Review Draft" button next to your keyword
From the Outline Screen
Confirm all sections show "Section Stage 5 Completed" status
Click the "Review Draft" button at the top of the screen
Either method will take you to the Draft tab where you can review and edit your content.
Editing Your Draft
FOMO.ai offers three powerful methods to edit your draft.
Good to Know: While each method has specific strengths, most users find that combining all three provides the most efficient editing workflow, with direct text editing (Method 1) typically required for final refinements.
Method 1: Direct Text Editing
Make manual edits directly in the Draft tab:
Navigate to the Draft tab.
Use the text editor to make changes to any part of your content.
When you select text, a floating toolbar appears with formatting options.
The text editor toolbar includes:
Ask AI: Get help with minor edits like grammar fixes, sentence length adjustments, or synonym suggestions.
Formatting Style: Change text to different heading levels, lists, quotes, or code blocks.
Link: Add, edit, or remove hyperlinks.
Text Formatting: Apply bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, or code formatting.
Text Color: Change the color of selected text.
Good to Know: Remember to save your changes regularly by clicking the "Save" button in the top-right corner of the editor. Unsaved changes may be lost if you navigate away from the page.
Method 2: AI Feedback for Sections
Regenerate entire sections with AI guidance:
Go to the Outline tab.
Click "Content Preview".
Find the section you want to modify.
Click "Regenerate content" beneath the section.
Enter your feedback in the text box that appears.
Click "Regenerate" to create new content based on your feedback.
Click “Review Draft” to return to the Draft tab and view the changes.
Good to Know: Use this method for major content changes such as tone adjustments, conceptual revisions, or completely new approaches to a section. This feature is particularly useful when you need significant changes that would be time-consuming to edit manually.
Method 3: Outline Modification and Regeneration
Change fundamental section parameters and regenerate:
Go to the Outline tab.
Under "Outline Preview," find the section you want to modify.
Edit the section parameters (title, key takeaways, template type, etc.) in the Outline.
The section status will change to "Regeneration Requested".
Click the "Generate" button to recreate the section.
Click “Review Draft” to return to the Draft tab and view the changes.
Good to Know: This method is best when you need to change structural elements like key takeaways or section templates. For any other change, Methods 1 or 2 are typically more efficient.

Saving Your Draft
After completing your edits:
Scroll to the bottom of the Draft tab.
Click "Save to Google Drive".
Good to Know: Your FOMO.ai account must be connected to Google Drive before saving. If you haven't connected yet, follow the same steps outlined in the Outline Process guide under "Saving to Google Drive > First-Time Connection."
Accessing Your Saved Draft
To view your saved draft:
Click "Open FOMO.ai Folder" after saving
Your draft will be stored in this folder structure:
FOMO.ai (main folder)
[Your Company Name] (subfolder)
[Keyword] (subfolder)
Draft files (with timestamps)
Each time you save, a new version is created with a timestamp, allowing you to track changes over time.
Addressing Common Content Issues
Watch for these frequently encountered issues when reviewing your draft:
Content Readability
Issue: Long, dense blocks of text that are difficult to read.
Solution:
Use AI feedback (Method 2) to break up text into smaller paragraphs.
Convert appropriate content into bullet or numbered lists.
Add additional subheadings to create more manageable sections.
Use “Ask AI” (Method 1) to make the text more concise.
Grammar and Language
Issue: Grammar errors or inconsistent language usage.
Solution:
Use the "Ask AI" feature (Method 1) to fix grammatical issues.
Check for regional language variations.
Review for consistency in tense, voice, and terminology.
Note: FOMO.ai uses US English by default.
Content Complexity
Issue: Content is too complex for your target audience.
Solution:
Use AI feedback (Method 2) to simplify explanations.
Use AI feedback to apply more accessible language.
Add examples or analogies to clarify complex concepts (you can use AI feedback feature for this as well).
Tone Alignment
Issue: Content tone doesn't match your brand voice.
Solution:
Use AI feedback (Method 2) to adjust the tone of specific sections.
Make manual edits to align language with your brand voice.
If the issue persists across all content, consider updating your Brand Tone of Voice in your Brand Lens.
Repetitive Content
Issue: Redundant information or phrasing throughout the draft.
Solution:
Select repetitive text in the Draft tab and use "Ask AI" to revise it.
Remove unnecessary duplications.
Consolidate similar points into more concise statements.
Link Management
Issue: Inconsistent or problematic hyperlinks.
Solution: Check all links for:
Functionality: Verify all links work by clicking on them. Replace broken links with working alternatives.
Proper anchor text: Links should use descriptive anchor text (e.g., "See our pricing page") rather than displaying raw URLs (e.g., "https://fomo.ai/pricing").
Consistent implementation: Maintain uniform formatting and style for all links throughout your content.
Appropriate context and placement: Place links where they naturally support the content—at relevant mentions of products, supporting facts, or in calls-to-action. Ensure external links provide value by supporting claims or offering additional information.
Good to Know: While AI can generate excellent content, human review is essential for ensuring the final draft meets your exact requirements. Using all three editing methods in combination provides the most efficient way to perfect your content.
Best Practices
Review the outline first: Ensure your outline is solid before generating the draft.
Generate all sections at once for efficiency when working with complete outlines
Save frequently to avoid losing your edits.
Use method-specific editing: Choose the right editing approach based on the type of change needed.
Check for brand consistency: Ensure language, tone, and messaging align with your brand guidelines.
Verify all links: Test each hyperlink to confirm it works and points to the intended destination.
