Prewriting is the first stage in the Content Team workflow. The decisions you make during this phase directly influence how your article will take shape throughout the content creation process.
Key Components of Prewriting
The Prewriting phase focuses on four critical elements:
Blog Title: The headline that captures reader attention and incorporates your primary keyword
Related Keywords: Secondary topics and phrases that determine important sections to include
Persona Information: The specific persona for whom the content is written
SME (Subject Matter Expert) Information: The expertise profile used to write the content in your brand's voice
Accessing the Prewriting Phase
After adding a keyword to Content Team, follow these steps:
Locate your keyword in the Content Team dashboard (you can type the keyword in the search bar)
Click "Start Prewriting" to begin the process
Good to Know: FOMO.ai automatically analyzes your keyword and Brand Lens to prepare initial suggestions for each component. This process typically takes about 45 seconds to a minute to complete.
Selecting a Title
Once FOMO.ai generates the initial prewriting information, the status will change to "Prewriting generated. Please select title."
Click "Select Title" to review the generated options.
You'll see 5 title options, each containing your exact or near-exact keyword match.
Select your preferred title by clicking the radio button next to it.
If none of the suggested titles meet your needs:
Click "Write Your Own Title".
Enter your custom title in the text box that appears.
Ensure your title includes your target keyword for SEO purposes.
Click on Save Title button.
Good to Know: Effective titles typically include your primary keyword near the beginning and are 50-60 characters long. This length optimizes both SEO value and reader engagement.
Managing Related Keywords
Related keywords help FOMO.ai understand what subtopics to include in your content. The system typically suggests 4-5 related keywords based on your primary keyword.
To modify related keywords:
Click the edit icon (pencil) next to any keyword to modify it.
Click the delete icon (trash) to remove a keyword.
To add a new keyword, type in the "New Related Keyword" text box and click the "+" button.
Good to Know: For optimal content structure, aim for 5-6 related keywords per article, with a maximum of 10. Too many keywords can lead to unfocused content, while too few may result in incomplete coverage of your topic.

To edit any field, click on the Edit information button.
Make your desired changes in the text editor of the respective field.
